What was your life like before you started training? (please specify details about your life style, self esteem, fitness level, strength, size etc)

Life before training was a timebomb that threatened to explode at any moment.  My health was threatened having developed high blood pressure and experiencing occasional chest pain and shortness of breath.  Being conscious of that fact that I was grossly overweight, my self esteem suffered greatly to the point of never venturing outside of home, work or time only with closest friends and family.  My fitness was non existent, I would get exhausted just walking up a flight of stairs.  My lifestyle was sluggish, with a sedentary job working long hours.  I would get home at night eat some frozen prepared meal or order in takeaway and just veg out on the couch in front of the TV.

 

What was it that lead to you deciding to look for a Personal Trainer?

My health was really beginning to suffer.  High blood pressure, chest pains, shortness of breath and a history of type 2 diabetes in the family, at my age I couldn’t afford to risk it.  I had also, for many years, been on the dieting circuit, trying anything and everything…whatever fad or drug that came along all to no avail.

 

How much work did you start off putting into your training? What about currently?

I believe I was committed from the start, starting with 2 half hour PT sessions per week. I slowly added to this by training on my own as well, increasing the work rate as my fitness improved.  I now train 5 days per week in group training as well as 2-3 30-60min sessions on my own.

 

Did you change your eating habits and if so how?

My eating habits had to change dramatically.  Out with all the takeaway meals and frozen foods, I started cooking healthy nutritious meals.  I used to skip meals and starve myself in the vain hope that this would help me lose weight.  I now eat regularly six times a day.  Oh and I also eliminated lollies, snackfoods (all junkfood), processed sugars and breads, soft drinks and so called “diet foods” and artificially sweetened foods.

 

How long have you been training with Terrific Fitness?

12 Months

 

How exactly is your life different today compared to the day you started training?

My life has changed dramatically.  I have dropped about 5-6 Dress sizes.  My fitness level is great, I even feel like a real athlete at times.  I have become much more social and my self confidence has returned.  All in all I am am much happier person.

 

How do you feel about yourself today?

As I have stated above, I am a much happier person…I like who I am today

 

What really gets you out of your comfy lounge to attend training?

Determination!  I have made myself a promise that I will never again be that introverted, lacking in confidence, overweight person I once was.  Also I love it…exercising is addictive…lol

 

What would you say to someone thinking of getting started with Terrific Fitness?

Do It!!! Its the best thing you could ever do for yourself.  Also you will make lots of new supportive friends and Terri is just the best.
