Distant friends

I have a number of clients stating that the more success they achieve the more distant some of their friends become. If this happens to you, don’t take it personally. Often times when we succeed in something that our friends are struggled with, they repel against us as a direct reflection of themselves and their own inadequacies. Don’t take it personally. It’s not fair that we cop the brunt of their distress, I agree. But they are merely squirming from their own anguish. Patience is key here. If their repelling gets out of control, then you need to exercise your choice of either accepting it, talking to them, or moving on. Remember, it’s them, it’s not you. – Terri Batsakis
