On the night of Terri’s Active Achieve Award, we were lucky enough to listen to Natalie Cook as a guest speaker. She was an amazing inspiration, and extremely interesting to listen to. Her words stuck with me and I wanted to share with you, my take on it, inspired by her.
She talked about the 5 P’s. I absolutely loved it. I want to share them with you, and for this purpose I am going to relate the 5 P’s to health and fitness. But, they can be used in all facets of life.
The first one is purpose. Why are you doing what you’re doing, why are you exercising, what’s the purpose behind eating healthy. Do you want to lose 5kgs, 30cms, run a marathon, play at the park with your kids.. Find your purpose.
What’s your plan? How are YOU going to make the changes? Are you going to train 3 times a week? Are you going to change your diet? Get allergy tested? Ask yourself, whats MY plan? What am I going to do to achieve my goals? Create what YOU want to see. AND, if the plan doesn’t work, start again, tomorrow is a new day. Plans are flexible, no plan should ever be set in concrete, its ok to start over!!
People- My ULTIMATE favourite. I say this all the time. Surround yourself with people that make it inevitable to succeed. Surround yourself with people who uplift you, make you smile, make you laugh, wipe your tears, hug you that little bit tighter. Share yourself, with those that share your values J
Passion- Love what you are doing!!! Love the way you eat, love how hard you train, and if you don’t feel that way, FAKE IT TIL YOU MAKE IT!!! Have passion for life, have passion for being healthy and happy, embrace what you are doing and do it with passion.
And lastly, perseverance… There are going to be obstacles, there will be good days and bad, BUT always remember ONE thing.. Whatever happens, keep persevering and NEVER EVER give up…xxxx
